Position Summary

We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical engineering aspects of multiple industrial projects from concept through detailed design and construction support.

This is a technical leadership role rather than a people management position. You’ll provide mechanical engineering expertise, mentor project engineers, coordinate with structural, electrical and process engineers, and work closely with Project Managers to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical engineering on multiple industrial projects.
Produce and review mechanical calculations and design packages.
Develop equipment layouts, piping concepts and general arrangements.
Review vendor drawings and technical submittals.
Prepare equipment specifications and datasheets.
Coordinate with structural, electrical and process disciplines.
Resolve technical issues during fabrication and construction.
Provide engineering support during commissioning.
Mentor junior engineers and review their work.
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and client standards.
Participate in client meetings and technical discussions.
Identify opportunities to improve engineering standards and processes.

Qualifications

Required

BS in Mechanical Engineering
7–12 years of industrial engineering experience
Experience with industrial process equipment
Strong understanding of fabrication and construction
Experience reading and producing engineering drawings
Knowledge of pressure equipment, ductwork, steel structures and piping
Excellent communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred

Industrial emissions control experience
EPC experience
Autodesk Plant 3D or AutoCAD experience
FE or PE desirable but not required
