Position Summary

We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical engineering aspects of multiple industrial projects from concept through detailed design and construction support.

This is a technical leadership role rather than a people management position. You’ll provide mechanical engineering expertise, mentor project engineers, coordinate with structural, electrical and process engineers, and work closely with Project Managers to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical engineering on multiple industrial projects.
  • Produce and review mechanical calculations and design packages.
  • Develop equipment layouts, piping concepts and general arrangements.
  • Review vendor drawings and technical submittals.
  • Prepare equipment specifications and datasheets.
  • Coordinate with structural, electrical and process disciplines.
  • Resolve technical issues during fabrication and construction.
  • Provide engineering support during commissioning.
  • Mentor junior engineers and review their work.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and client standards.
  • Participate in client meetings and technical discussions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering standards and processes.

Qualifications

Required

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • 7–12 years of industrial engineering experience
  • Experience with industrial process equipment
  • Strong understanding of fabrication and construction
  • Experience reading and producing engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of pressure equipment, ductwork, steel structures and piping
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred

  • Industrial emissions control experience
  • EPC experience
  • Autodesk Plant 3D or AutoCAD experience
  • FE or PE desirable but not required
