Position Summary

The Lead Structural Engineer will be responsible for the structural engineering design of industrial facilities and equipment support systems.

You’ll work closely with our mechanical, process and project management teams to deliver practical, buildable engineering solutions while ensuring compliance with applicable design codes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead structural engineering for multiple industrial projects.
  • Design steel support structures.
  • Design reinforced concrete foundations.
  • Perform structural analysis.
  • Produce calculation packages.
  • Review fabrication drawings.
  • Coordinate with mechanical engineering to support equipment layouts.
  • Work with geotechnical information and foundation recommendations.
  • Support construction and field engineering activities.
  • Review contractor RFIs.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
  • Participate in client technical meetings.

Qualifications

Required

  • BS in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 7–12 years of structural engineering experience
  • Experience designing industrial steel structures
  • Experience with reinforced concrete foundations
  • Knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC and ACI codes
  • Experience using structural analysis software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

  • PE License (preferred but not essential)
  • Industrial EPC experience
  • Experience with equipment support structures
  • Familiarity with STAAD, RISA or RAM software
