Precision Partners Proudly Supports the Phoenix Award Committee.

The Phoenix Award Committee is an organization made up of members who meet annually to elect a recipient. The recipient is chosen based on the contributions they have made to the advancement of the glass industry over the lifetime of their careers. Since 1971 the committee has gathered together to select a recipient who will receive the Phoenix Award at a black-tie banquet held in a location of the recipient’s choosing. This recognition and award is considered to be the most prestigious given in the glass industry.

Precision Partners Founder and President Rod Gravley served two terms on the committee and is scheduled to serve future terms.

Rod’s dedication to improving manufacturing processes and promoting environmental responsibility by developing cutting-edge Air Pollution Technology, this technology has left a lasting impact on the glass industry. Rod’s participation on the committee reflects his passion for ensuring the glass industry continues to evolve while maintaining its focus on reducing environmental impact.

The 2024 Phoenix Award recipient is American Glass Artist Karen LaMonte, whose glass sculptures are on exhibitions and permanent displays in museums all over the world. Karen chose to have her banquet held in Prague, Czechia this October. Karen’s contributions to the glass industry extend beyond her work as a pioneering artist; she is also recognized as a leader in promoting environmental sustainability within glassmaking. Her dedication to responsible practices aligns with the core values that Precision Partners upholds in our own work, and we are proud to join in celebrating her achievements.

Rod’s wife Cindy, co-founder and CEO of Precision Partners and his daughter Heather Gravley Chavez Executive Assistant for Precision Partners were honored to attend the banquet this year as sponsor. As we look toward the future, we remain committed to contributing to the industry’s success and supporting those who strive for excellence.

Thank you to The Phoenix Committee for gathering all the innovators, engineers, and visionaries who work tirelessly to keep the glass industry at the forefront of technological and environmental advancements. For more information, please visit their website!
